Our Programs

Cooperative Preschool

Our program, inspired by the Waldorf values of Reverence, Repetition and Rhythm, strives to provide a gentle transition for children, ages 3.5-6, from the home to a group environment.

Located in East Asheville, North Carolina, Grow With Me Cooperative is a community of young children and parents seeking to create a cooperative learning program that facilitates social, spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual growth in a loving, supportive atmosphere.  We nurture a respect for self, others, and nature, while providing a safe environment for our children to stretch their imaginations and to explore their interests.

Our cooperative teaching environment offers children a continuous thread of experience, bridging school and home, fosters a deeper relationship between parent and child and helps families better integrate their child’s personal needs and interests into their school environment.

We believe children have innate wisdom, and that it is our responsibility to honor and cultivate this power within children.  Therefore, imagination and play experience are keys to the young child’s development  at GWM.

Our program, conveniently located in East Asheville at the Groce Methodist Church, also offers:

  • trained teacher
  • quality programming
  • affordable tuition
  • natural play materials
  • arts & crafts
  • cooking projects
  • circle time
  • storytelling
  • exceptional classroom & outdoor play spaces

Our program meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9-1.

Parent/Child Class

Like our preschool program, our parent/child class provides a warm, nurturing environment for parents, caregivers and their young children to explore the world beyond home.  This will be a time to slow down and deepen your connection with your child and other parents/caregivers in a supportive community.  The morning rhythm will include free play, songs, arts/crafts, a wholesome snack prepared together, storytime and conversations about parenting and child development.

Some of the topics that we may discuss include:

* The importance of rhythm and how to create a rhythm that works in your family
* Mindfulness and Conscious Discipline
* The importance of play, the very important work of the young child
* Nature connection
* The importance of imitation in young children’s learning

Our parent/child class meets on Mondays from 9:30-11:30.   The fall session will run from Monday September 10th through November 19th (no class 11/12).  The cost per session is $250.
