“Of winter’s lifeless world each tree
Now seems a perfect part;
Yet each one holds summer’s secret
Deep down within its heart.”
– Charles G. Stater
We have returned from holiday break and although the weather has been cold, we have been enjoying all that winter has to offer!
We even went on a field trip to the North Carolina Arboretum to see the Lego sculptures!
Inside the classroom, kids have been busy making lots of warm snacks like roasted veggies and homemade bread! We have also been playing with ice and observing the effects that salt and warm water have on it.
We’ve had a busy month, but perhaps everyone favorite activity has been acting out, “The Mitten” where each child pretends to be an animal that hides inside a little boy’s lost mitten!
